At only 8mm thin, and weighing in at less than 400g, the Bookbook comes pre-installed with thousands of home furnishing ideas.
“Once in a while, something comes along that changes the way we live, a device so simple and intuitive, using it feels almost familiar,” says Jorgen Eghammer, the “chief design guru” in the video. “Introducing the 2015 Ikea catalog. It’s not a digital book or an e-book. It’s a book book.”
He goes on to highlight the features of the “bookbook” – “no cables, not even a power cable”, an “eternal” battery life, “no lag” and so on.
This video ad is promoting Ikea’s 2015 catalog and a blatant spoof of Apple iPad, a satirical piece on tech commercials and over-the-top tech enthusiasm in general.
The video was created by ad agency BBH Asia Pacific, it was posted on IKEA Singapore’s YouTube account on Sept 3.
