Samsung Galaxy K zoom is now officially in the Philippines priced at P24,990

Korean company Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. has launched the Samsung Galaxy K zoom, another Android smartphone with specialized camera functionality.

“The market for this is the 20-35 age range. But actually, it has a much wider appeal as anyone who likes to take pictures will appreciate it,” Eric Sulit, Samsung head of digital imaging, said during the a recent launch.

Samsung Galaxy K zoom specifications:

  • LTE network
  • Android 4. (Kitkat)
  • 20.7 megapixels main camera sensor, 2 mp front camera
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 8 GB internal memory, with microSD support
  • Hexacore: 1.3 GHz quadcore + 1.7 GHz dualcore processor
  • 4.8-inch 1280 x 720 Amoled screen
  • 2,430 mAh battery

Aside from the generous pixel count of the main camera, the Galaxy K zoom also has a retractable lens with 10x optical zoom. The only trade-off with the muscular camera capability is the smartphone is a bit on the chunky side, 20mm thick on its lens and 16.6 mm across the unit’s main body.

    Hey, sounds cool, I’m sure there’s an audience for this kind of gadgets, though I’d personally prefer a separate phone and camera, since a jack of all trades is rarely great at doing well at least in one area.

  2. I like the “grip” per say on this. I have a galaxy and the photos are disapointing. These look to be so much better. You really can’t expect this not to be a little chunky, lol – I don’t mind it being larger or heavy if it has a good battery life and performs well.

  3. I’ve been reading about this one for a while but still very am hesitant to buy it since I’m not so confident on the photo quality.
