Samsung Galaxy Alpha with metal body now official

Following numerous leaks, Samsung has finally unveiled the new Galaxy Alpha; a 4.7-inch Android handset that runs on the company’s own octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM and is backed by six-core Mali-T628 GPU.  The Samsung Galaxy Alpha stands out thanks to a metal frame and dimpled rear cover – in fact, when viewed from some angles it looks like an iPhone.

It is not fully metal though since it has a rubberized plastic back so that you can still remove the back and pop up another battery in case you run out of power midway through something important and you’re nowhere near a wall socket or a handy USB charging port.   Samsung Galaxy Alpha is expected to make its official debut next month and is said to be retailed for 599 Euros

Features found in all of Samsung’s 2014 device lineup like the Ultra-Power Saving Mode, S Health, Finger Print Scanner, Download Booster and Private Mode are also found in the device it comes running the latest version of Samsung’s TouchWiz. So is support for Samsung’s Gear smart watches. There’s no mention of Kids Mode but I expect it to be somewhere in there.

  2. Woot octacore but question is how much? Will they give it for 9999 like other pinoy brands?

  15. This phone is truly amazing but then I feel like it is a apple rip off phone (the design). However I barely ever seen a phone with octa core which literally gave me a digital boner. That’s amazing. However I hoped that the ram would at least be 3 GB considering the fact that the phone is 8 core. I think Samsung should’ve gone with a different GPU like Adreno. When I compare this to PCs it feels like intel vs amd because amd goes crazy with their clocks and cores then is best compatiple with Radeon GPUs which I am not a big fan of. On the other hand intel focuses on multi-threading the most and performance and is best compatible with nvidia GPUs which I love. This is what this phone feels like. It feels like an AMD and Radeon cross based PC. Well for Note 4 I hope for Samsung to go equipped with the newest upcoming snapdragon CPU and chipset and have at least 3 GB of ram and be equipped with Qualcome GPUs. I know this is asking too much from Samsung and it will probably be hard to make the phone thinner. But, considering the fact that it only takes them $200 to make the phone and selling it for like $800 is crazy. So I expect them to put in more. Or else Apple will truly dominate the market if Samsung keeps on cheeping out.

  16. Maybe the best Samsung’s device ever made. Something made with a brain.

  17. I really like the size of the screen, it makes surfing the web and reading your email a little easier.
