Apple has quietly released its new iPod touch model with 16GB of internal storage and 5 megapixel iSight camera with iPod touch loop to connect a wrist strap for only $199. . The new model will replace the $299 camera-less 16GB model that was released last year.
All iPod touch (5th Gen) models have a 4″ (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch IPS “retina” display with a 1136×640 native resolution (326 ppi), a front-facing 1.2 megapixel “FaceTime HD” 720p camera (again, note that this model lacks a rear camera) — and support for Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11n Wi-Fi (both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies), Siri, and AirPlay in addition to the expected music, photo, video playback,and iOS app functionality.
All iPod touch (5th Gen) models are powered by a 1 GHz dual-core A5 processor and have 512 MB of RAM. Battery life on all configurations is an Apple-estimated 40 hours of music playback and 8 hours of video playback.
