iOS 8 and Larger Screen Expected to Come in iPhone 5 Colors This September
According to the rumors flying around, it seemed likely that Apple’s iPhone 6 would be released on Sept. 19, that is according to IB Times. Its likely competitor, the Xiaomi Mi 4, was launched on July 22. Now Apple die hard consumers are abuzz with the news since these two phone companies are competing on prices, features and specs.
Apple will reportedly “set the world on fire” with the iPhone 6, analyst Van Baker of Gartner said that the next Apple smartphone–said to come in two varieties–will be “unbelievably massive” for the firm, Computer World reported.
“As well as they did with the iPhone this quarter, with all the rumors of a new iPhone [this fall], I was impressed with the results,” Baker said. “That tells me when the next generation comes out, they’re going to set the world on fire.”
The iPhone 6 will have a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch model, which is believed to be Apple’s response to larger “phablet” smartphones from Samsung and HTC.
According to GSMArena, the specifications, price and features of the iPhone 6 that are available around the web are still not official because Apple has not yet released any confirmation. Even the Xiaomi Mi 4’s specs are still preliminary.
The new Apple phone will have 16 million colors and a resolution display of 960 x 1,704 pixels. Pixel density is at 416 ppi. It will have a capacitive multi-touch screen and LED-backlit IPS LCD. It will be water-resistant due to its shatter-proof sapphire crystal glass case with oleophobic coating.
For internal memory, the iPhone 6 will have 16, 32, 64 and 128 GB with 2 GB RAM. It will not support an external SD card slot. It will have an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus and video at 1080p @ 60fps. The Li-Po ~ 1,850-mAh battery is built-in and cannot be removed.
Based on the reports that GSMArena has received, the iPhone 6 will have an Apple A8 chipset and will operate using iOS 8 with a dual-core 2-GHz CPU. Colors will be in gold, silver, white and space gray. According to rumors, the iPhone 6 will cost about $100 more than the iPhone 5.
